I have had feedback from most of our group and all, without exception, were full of praise for all the arrangements you had made for us.

The Cullen was an ideal location and very well featured. The golf courses and facilities were stunning, and enjoyed by all. Hospitality at each was great and were made to feel very welcome. Lachie was excellent driving the bus and very accomodating when we were delayed by an extra beer at the end of a round.

Thanks to you for all your hard work and organising. From the little I did at this end, I know how much is involved. We will be back again and will be in touch with GOLFselect to help with the organising.

My apologies for the delay. Following the return from my trip to Melbourne I have been busy and wishing to devote some time to this thank you note.

Imagine this, you've just worked out how to find seven days holiday combined with a three day seminar and you need to travel on a round trip 2500kms? Some of you may go to a last minute.com or something like that only to find that at last minute they need two weeks to organise a mini holiday, then you pick up the phone and ring gary@golfselect.com.au ask him can he organise accommodation in the city and then get you onto some of Australia's finest sand belt Golf Courses on the Mornington Peninsula. The reply is a courteous "yes mate, Matt will contact you to get your dates and locations and leave it to us". Within two hours I had confirmation of accommodation and course locations with booking times to be confirmed over the next 24hrs, from that point on all contact was done via email and mobile phone and I set out on a very memorable motoring holiday. On check in at our Melbourne Hotel a parcel was given to me with instructions, a bound itinerary and maps precisely giving driving instructions, distances, turns offs and exact directions to be there on time for Tee - Off.

The Package for two people, ten games, electric carts and great Tee times was reasonable and turned out to be great value compared to a DIY holiday. Along the way Matthew contacted me by phone to check that I was happy and if there was anything else they could do to make my trip and holiday more enjoyable. Funny things always happen to well laid plans, I contacted Matt and asked him if there any way of trading an unused Tee time for another Tee time at another course, this became the highlight of the trip as a new Tee time was organised on the National Golf Course early morning and I squeezed in a last 16 holes prior to a 1:00pm Matinee session of Ben Elton's "We Will Rock You". The following day on our way back home we reflected on the past 8 day

I have had the good fortune to use GOLFSelect's services on two recent occasions. for a personal golf trip in '02 and for a foursome of over-the-hill alpha male choppers from Chicago Golf Club in Dec '03. This latter group has combined golf experience of nearly 200 years, enjoys regular play at their much-revered home course (1892; CB McDonald; oldest 18-hole golf club in US), has played great courses all over the world .and, quite naturally for quasi-retired geezers, expects everything to be perfect or better !!! Except for me, none had ever played golf in Australia. All were missing their anchovy-stuffed olives in Ketel One martinis and were just waiting for any excuse to bash me for having seduced them into traveling halfway around the world to play golf in a country they didn't know had any golf courses !!!

Let's just say the margin for error was pretty slim !!!

10 days, 11 courses, 16 rounds and three very surprised and satisfied golfers returned as converts (not convicts) ! I, of course, was already a convert based on my previous outing.

Gary and his people know the courses, know the people at the courses, understand the travel logistics and all the other details to package a perfect golf odyssey or single-day outing. He adds to that his genuinely personal and amiable service and he is always available to deal with the inevitable changes.

I recommend GOLFSelect unequivocally ! I am already looking forward to the '04 trip to include Tasmania (Barnbougle Dunes) and New Zealand.

To make a long story short: thanks a lot once again for the perfect planning of everything ! The whole vacation was great and your preparation and execution of the itinerary was just the best I have experienced yet. Especially the fact that we did it through the internet shows that this kind of business really works - provided one uses the advantages like quick response, which you did. The photos and the book you sent us were a big surprise and will remind us of some wonderful days for the future. I hope we will be able to repeat this in the next years, maybe together with my sons, who are also very keen golfers. All in all you were certainly right that the courses around Melbourne are the 'better' ones in terms of being able to pull the cart, that they are what I understand as 'original' golf courses. I should maybe add that the friendliness and openness of the Australians was a very pleasing experience which really makes us look forward to come back again.

Yeah a heck of a trip!!!!!
Played fabulous golf courses... Heritage was perfect (a bit too hot if you can remember). National was great but not the weather. I played it today and the wind was ferocious and mixed with some rain... well it was awful. But 33 holes were great. As far as Moonah no complaints because I am not a member there because I would go nuts. Legends is perfect but Open is extreme.

Also I want to thank you about the beautiful book, the gifts and your help.

When I go back to Montreal I will not be able to forget about it. For sure I will come back Mate.

The purpose of this letter is to thank you and your staff for your assistance in organising our Masters tour and associated golf. In summary, we had a fantastic time. It is hard to choose from all the highlights - the Masters itself, the golf at Pinehurst, Kiawah Island Ocean or Harbour Town after the PGA Tour event. We really appreciated your assistance in advising on course selection, and timing of the trip - we couldn't have planned it without your assistance. The group moved easily between our different commitments, something that doesn't always happen on overseas trips. We have found that our friends at home can't quite believe that we have played such great courses - we now have to play the best courses regularly, after such an experience! Thanks again to you and your team for your assistance.

I am writing to thank you for the wonderful golf holiday that you put together for Paulina and me at very short notice. When we decided to make a visit to Melbourne we looked up websites and found yours. After contact I gave you a "wish list" of courses little expecting that you would be able to accommodate them all into a two week stay which amounted to us playing 17 different courses in 13 days.

Your organisation was excellent, accommodation very adequate for the stay, and we were well received by all the golf courses and hotels. We appreciated the gift packs and also the driving instructions were extremely helpful enabling us to find our way around Melbourne without any problems.

I have taken the opportunity to mention our visit and your company to a number of my friends and I would expect that further business will come your way from these contacts. I will send detailed comments on each of the courses and accommodation in a separate message. If any potential users of your service would like reference please feel free to give them our telephone number and we will be happy to give them appropriate recommendations.

I'm on the plane going home and thought that this would be the time to thank you so very much for all you have done in making my trip so much better. It was a pleasure meting you at Kingston Heath and so enjoyed playing that wonderful course. But for me the real treat as a laymen was New South Wales.

As we discussed the other day I really have no idea in what truly makes one course # 1 and another # 10 or #100 I'm at a loss for this formula, so I can only judge it by my personal feelings and limited knowledge. But I know I like a course that leaves with me a memory of the holes I played and the feeling that I really need to come back and play this course again. I truly enjoyed Royal Melbourne, it had character, played well, thought the par 5 a little short as I was on in 2 twice. But as you walked the course you felt you were playing a legendary course. At Kingston Heath I truly enjoyed it even though two holes were temps it played very nice. I actually scored very well that day even though I bogeyed two holes with you.

But I was extremly impressed with New South Wales, I thought it had everything going for it, great holes, wonderful views, very difficult greens (crowned) – don’t be short and don’t be long, the elements of wind, and I was extremely lucky as I was put on with a truly wonderful couple who were members and we made friends at once.

And all because of you, Gary I will try and organize a trip with my golfing traveling buddies. We normally travel with 8 sometimes with 12 but I would want to keep this to 8 I believe as it is.easier to get around. Certainly I would want to play NSW again, can you suggest 2 other courses we might play up by Sydney, and in Melbourne Royal Melbourne and 2 more...then I would hope we jump over to NZ for Kauri Cliffs and Cape Kidappers. How does that all sound?

What a great trip! The arrangements you made for us were outstanding and we truly enjoyed all the accomodations and golf courses. David Burton at New South Wales and Paul Vardy at Royal Melbourne were very particularly welcoming. And your providing the GPS system saved a lot of potential "discussions" with my wife regarding her navigation skills! Looking forward to returning to such a beautiful part of the world sometime soon (and next time I'll be sure to have you include Barnbougle Dunes in the itinerary as you initially suggested).

We used GOLFSelect, Gary Lisbon who did a feature interview here on GCA about a year ago. I can recommend him highly. He made reservations for us at 14 different courses in Australia, all with golf carts which are tough to come by, gave us a GPS system that covered every airport, golf course and hotel on the trip that did not get us lost even once, and when I overpaid him by mistake in US Dollars instead of Australian Dollars, he refunded the money immediately and I would never have caught my own mistake. Everything came off without a hitch.

Hi Gary I've finally been able to figure out what day it is after being back almost a week! Fabulous trip, great people and some great golf courses. The GPS system was a great idea as we wondered how we would have found some of the courses without its help. As for the courses. Royal Melbourne and Barnbougle stand out way ahead of the others. Fantastic courses and I can see Barnbougle being ranked in the top 30 world in no time. Royal Melbourne, in my mind, deserves its top 10 ranking. Overall we had a great time and really appreciate your help and organization. I would definitely recommend your organization. Regards John

Hi Matt, I thought that all of the accommodations were satisfactory, with the highlight being the Langham Hotel in Melbourne. I loved every minute in Melbourne!! I thought that the golf was fantastic, including Royal Melbourne (despite the condition of the fairways). My favorite course BY FAR was the Old Course at The National GC. The caddies were all very friendly and helpful. I only hope that we made a favorable impression on them as well. Golfer gift packs - What can I say? Unexpected and very much appreciated. Sightseeing tours - I really enjoyed the Bridge climb. It's something I would recommend to anyone. Thanks again for all your hard work, and let me just reiterate that I had a fantastic time, and I'm DEFINITELY going start planning another Australia golf trip with you sometime soon, most likely for the end of 2009. Hi Matt, Just wanted to let you know that Maxine and I had a wonderful time on our Thirteenth Beach - Barwon Heads Golf trip. Once again, thank you for your very professional organisation of every aspect of our time away. Everything went very smoothly - we were expected everywhere and everyone we came in contact with was very friendly, courteous and professional. The accommodation was more than adequate without being luxurious, and all meals were very well presented and most enjoyable. Thank you for booking us in for the Beach Course at Thirteenth Beach - it was most impressive, and we were lucky enough to virtually have the course to ourselves on Thursday afternoon. Both of us managed a number of pars on each course, and even a birdie or two, but overall, the scores were nothing to brag about!!!!!! Even the weather favoured us for both days. The forecast had been rather ordinary, but both days were overcast without being cold, and there was NO WIND!!!!!! which was a bonus on both links courses. Perfect... Once again, thank you for providing us with a fantastic golf holiday. On a scale of 1 - 10, definitely 11+ !!!!!! Regards, Deidre
