What to be careful of when deciding who to use for your logoed golf ball requirements
Any decision which involves the branding of your company logo on a marketing item to be given away to your best clients should be viewed with care. There are 3 areas to consider:
- Make sure you are comparing Apples with Apples
- Method of Printing
- Prices are not always what they seem
1. Make sure you are comparing apples with apples
Let's face it - there are thousands of golf balls in the market. All claim to do something that the other ball does not. So how do you decide?
Well first of all you stick with recognised brands - brands like Callaway, Ben Hogan, Top-Flite, Titleist, Dunlop and Bridgestone.
And then you make sure you are comparing apples with apples.
One supplier may claim to have very cheap logoed golf balls - and they may! But look into it closely and see what ball they are offering. It may be a brand ball but it may be a lower end ball than the one you are comparing against.
We come across this all the time - the ball that our Topflite balls are being compared against may be cheaper but it is clearly an inferior product.
2. Method of Printing
There are generally two ways to produce a logoed golf ball:
- Use a Pad Printer-Many golf ball suppliers purchase finished golf balls from a golf ball manufacturer and then pad print the golf ball with the company logo. The ball is then left to dry and sold to you. This has one major disadvantage-the logo is not sealed in any way rendering it vulnerable to scratching, wearing and even disappearing over time.
- Apply the logo and then seal the logo
Top-Flite produce a number of their golf balls in a different manner. The unfinished ball is taken, pad printed with the company logo and, once dry, applied with a clear coat over the whole ball to effectively "seal" in the logo. This makes the logo on the ball more resistant to scratching and wearing.
3. Prices are not always what they seem
Some companies, when quoting golf ball prices, leave out the setup charge to make their per dozen cost seem a lot cheaper. They then quietly add the comment "setup charge of $60 per color" somewhere in the fine print.
On an order of say 12 dozen for a two color logo this would add $10 per dozen to an all inclusive price. Try adding that to our low per dozen price and see if it is cheaper.
Through our exclusive deal with Callaway and Top-Flite we do not charge you a setup fee to produce your logoed balls.
A small setup charge applies for Titleist, Nike and Pinnacle however our prices are still very competitive.
We also do not charge freight for orders over $300 within Australia.
